Detroit 2, New York 6: Maybe the Tigers won't be as good as everyone thought they would be? Or maybe it's just really early in the season? Either way after being swept by Seattle then losing 2 out of 3 to New York, the Tigers aren't looking that hot and are now in 2nd place in the AL Central behind the Indians. One thing is for sure, the AL Central is filled with mediocrity.
Anaheim 0, Cleveland 4: Albert Pujols went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Sunday, but Angels fans shouldn't worry about Pujols at all. Derek Lowe and two Indians relievers shut out the entire Angels team on Sunday giving up only 6 base runners the entire game.
Arizona 8, Miami 4: Speaking of disappoint teams, the Marlins need to win on Monday night just to split the series against a injury plagued Diamondbacks team. Josh Johnson got pounded for 10 hits and 5 runs in only 5 1/3 innings of work. The Diamondbacks got multiple RBIs in the game from Jason Kubel and Cody Ransom. That's all you need to know about the Marlins right now.
Ozzie Guillen Quote: Because I haven't quoted Ozzie enough this year, via the AP: ''I'm concerned because it's not fun,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said. ''It's very hard to have fun when you're not playing well. We cannot be worse than this. Obviously we're going to play better. It seems like right now we're not having fun at all.'' Ozzie isn't having fun y'all.
Chicago 5, Philadelphia 1: Philadelphia had just six base runners all game and scored one run. They are definitely the 2011 Giants reincarnated. Even worse for the Phillies, they lost because the Cubs scored on a handful of grounders and a solo home run. Those are the worse kind of games to lose.
Milwaukee 3, St. Louis 2: The Brewers finally beat the Cardinals. After losing 2 out of 3 to start the year against the Cards, the Brewers lost the first two games of this series. Thankfully for the Brewers Zach Greinke saved their bacon. Greinke wasn't spectacular, but he did enough to shut down the Cardinals.
Oakland 2, Baltimore 5: Bartolo Colon had shut down the Orioles for the entire game. Then Bob Melvin brought in Grant Ball Four. Ball Four allowed Matt Wieters to tie the game in the ninth inning with a double. Then he gave up the game-winning three-run home run to Wilson Betemit out of all people. The O's-Yankees series this week in the Bronx should be fun despite what that wet blanket kt1000 says. (Video via Big League Stew)
Boston 1, Chicago 4: The Red Sox 6-game winning streak was finally broken on Sunday. Gavin Floyd took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against Boston before Dustin Pedroia hit a single. The White Sox had a big first inning when two last season under performers Alex Rios and Adam Dunn drove in three runs.
Washington 0, Los Angeles 2: Even with Bryce Harper, the Natinals offense is very mediocre supported by a great pitching staff. The mediocre offense though didn't show it's face at all in Los Angeles and was swept by the Dodgers. Harper had a hit, walk, and a strikeout on Sunday.
San Diego 1, San Francisco 4: Melky Cabrera hit a sac fly and Pablo Sandoval homered in the first inning and those two runs would be all what Madison Bumgarner would need. Bumgarner wasn't perfected, allowed 7 baserunners, but he never allowed San Diego to have a big inning against him. Bumgarner has won four straight since losing the first game of the year.
New York 6, Colorado 5, 11 Innings: Call me a conspiracy theorist, but you cannot get to believe the Rockies don't switch the game balls later in the innings when their team is losing. Case in point on Sunday, they were losing 4-0 in the eighth inning before coming back to tie the Mets. Thankfully the Rockies lost in the 11th inning on a Ike Davis single.

When Wilson Betemit is hitting walk-offs, you're having a good season.
