Sugar Bowl Open Thread

Michigan vs Virginia Tech! Feel the excitement of two teams that didn't win their conferences playing in a BCS bowl game. Hell at least Va Tech won their conference division. Michigan won squat. But enjoy this game folks because there isn't much college football left. Leave comments and don't be a troll.

  1. I might not be around until the 2nd half of this game.

  2. Does this game really need a 30 minute separate pre-game? At least it's not the Orange Bowl pregame....

    ReplyDelete
  3. I hope they do not have the weird camera angles here like they did at the New Orleans Bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  4. VaTech donated tickets they couldn't sell to "Gulf Coast fans of the Hokies." #All10OfThem

  19. David Molk is gonna give it a go at center. Otherwise, Michigan would've arranged for Phil Costa to handle shotgun snaps.

    ReplyDelete
  20. VaTech's ends have gone to school on these Denard handoffs/scrambles.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Denard is picked off by Fuller!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Bad time to take that penalty VPI

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hokies aren't allowing the requisite Denard 60+ yard jump ball completion.

Michigan lucky to get that roughing the punter call.

    ReplyDelete
  53. A Fumble! But probably a facemask on Michigan

    ReplyDelete
  54. I just can't be upset when something like that happens to VPI.

    VaTech driving.

    ReplyDelete
  73. "Logan Thomas's best throws are his feet" Millen

    ReplyDelete
  74. PI in the end zone on Blake Countess (Michigan's best DB). VaTech's best chance to actually score a TD.

    ReplyDelete
  75. @RJBO The only explanation. Matt Millen is working the game.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Michigan can gain absolutely nothing on 1st downs tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  77. JaRon Hosley has been everywhere tonight. Can you play DB for the Lions Saturday?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Confession: I"m watching the WJC game now.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Boy am I happy Greg Mattison's D is RJBO's problem now.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Michigan's problem is lacking talent in the secondary. Blake Countess (though short) is talented. #OlneyMD

  100. That replay is close, I think the ground helped him make the catch.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Matt Millen thinks he didn't think it was a catch.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I don't think that's a touchdown.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Any dicey call has gone the way of Michigan. #Pac-12Refs

    ReplyDelete
  104. The thing was Millen called it quickly.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Did Danny Coale get into a brawl with a transvestite on Bourbon Street? #Cuts&BruisesToTheFace

    ReplyDelete
  106. Michigan's gonna miss this FG. #ConservativePlayCalling

    ReplyDelete
  107. Way to be conservative, Michigan. 37 yard field goals are no gimmes, especially at the college level.

    ReplyDelete
  108. These teams are playing not to lose. #UsuallyFails

    ReplyDelete
  109. For all the car insurance....

    MICHIGAN WINS!

    ReplyDelete
  110. I hope VPI never, ever gets invited back into a BCS game.

    ReplyDelete
  111. @ Kris: I hope you do not have to deal with any VPI fans tomorrow. That was a, uh, very questionable ending.

    ReplyDelete
  112. @Kris Agreed. #ShouldOfBeenBoiseStOrKansasSt

    ReplyDelete
  113. As ugly and brutal as this was, I'll take it.

    B1G! B1G! B1G! B1G! #Kidding

    ReplyDelete
  114. @Justin I can buy them off with some moonshine.

    ReplyDelete
  115. McDonough is questioning the OT system that they start in FG range.

    ReplyDelete
  116. With a Top-10 recruiting class and Denard coming back (that's a positive?), Michigan will be ranked in the Preseason Top 8. #YeahISaidIt

...but they're replacing most of both lines and need some playmakers at CB/WR. #UndeservedHype

    ReplyDelete
  117. Good news, this was Matt Millen's last game of the year. #SmallMiracles #OhWaitHeWasOnRadio

    ReplyDelete
  118. BTW, Crazy Face Jay Stricherz should never ref another BCS game...ever. #RonCherry'd

    ReplyDelete
  119. @longley The drives should start at the 50. You have to get at least 1 first down before getting the FG try.

    ReplyDelete
  120. @Kris It would make more sense. Playing not to lose makes me sick.

    ReplyDelete
  121. The Chairman of Allstate went to Michigan? #Controversy!

    ReplyDelete
  122. I did not think that was a touchdown at first, but now, I am not so sure. I slowed it down with my DVR, watched it up close, and could not tell whether or not the ball hit the ground without Coale having possession. How the refs conclusively determined that ball hit the ground is beyond me.

    ReplyDelete
  123. @RJBO State of Michigan 2 for 2 in the Superdome this week?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Sorry, Kris. It'll be 1 for 2. #45-27Saints

    ReplyDelete
  125. @Justin I thought the point of the ball hit the ground, which allowed Coale to control it. But, who the hell knows.
