Well hopefully the games in November improve, because we're stuck with another week of mediocre games topped off with some truly uninspiring night games. At least last week there was a threat of an upset. This week I really see nothing unless you think USC could upset Stanford which I don't see happening. The great thing about sports though is that you never know. There could be an upset this week and here's this week's Must List of games to keep an eye on. Here's this week's Must List.
Thursday, October 27th
Virginia at Miami, 8:00 (ESPN: Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer, Craig James, Jenn Brown): Just watch the World Series tonight. No need to waste your time watching two mediocre ACC teams with Craig James calling the action. Unless you like Craig James which I would suggest to get your head examined.
Saturday, October 29th
Michigan State at Nebraska, Noon (ESPN: Dave Pasch, Chris Spielman, Urban Meyer, Quint Kessenich): I can't believe Michigan State is the dog in this game. Didn't they just beat the team that welcomed Nebraska to the Big Ten with a beating? Also when was the last time Nebraska had a game that started before Noon? Will this effect the Cornhuskers? This game intrigues me even though it's a B1G game.
Georgia vs Florida, 3:30 (CBS: Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson): The cocktail party is always a must see because both of these fan bases hate each other. Also I want to see Georgia to lose just to see the fire Mark Richt hype start up again just after Georgia won a few games in a row.
Navy at Notre Dame, 3:30 (NBC: Tom Hammond, Mike Mayock, Alex Flanagan): I might be the only person who finds this game interesting even though I don't root for either of these teams. While Navy has lost five games in a row, doesn't it feel like the Middies could beat the Irish especially after the Irish laid such a huge egg against USC last week?
Oklahoma at Kansas State, 3:30 (ESPN: Sean McDonough, Matt Millen, Heather Cox): I love this game even though Oklahoma lost last week. Bob Stoops going against his former mentor Bill Snyder is always a must see for me because of the history of those two coaching against each other. Oh and Kansas State is still undefeated and could have a real chance at winning the Big 12 this year.
Stanford at USC, 8:00 (ABC: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Erin Andrews): Stanford has played a soft schedule up to this point. Meanwhile USC has been very inconsistent in barely beating a terrible Utah team, getting thrashed by Arizona State, and handing Notre Dame their asses. I just want to see a confused looking Lane Kiffin just once in this game.
Clemson at Georgia Tech, 8:00 (ABC: Mike Patrick, Craig James, Jenn Brown): Georgia Tech is coming off of back-to-back losses but doesn't it really feel like it's time for Clemson to lose a game? I just don't see Clemson going undefeated this year and it feels like this is the game they'll lose.
Recipe of the Week, Baked Eyeballs Casserole: Once again this recipe comes courtesy from James Craven. This also may be JC's best suggestion yet. A casserole with Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, pasta, and mozzarella balls. If you have the time and patience, I would definitely make this meal.
Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Glenmorangie: I don't normally like Scotch, but if I have to drink it I prefer malt scotch and I prefer Glenmorangie. This creamy malt scotch has a certain sweetness to it that is very delicious. I suggest this scotch to any scotch drinkers out there.
As shocking as it sounds, but KState vs OU is probably the game of the week.
