Want To Read About an Grease Fire?
The 49ers-Seahawks game yesterday was a grease fire combined with a train wreck. A real preview of how bad these teams are going to be this year. San Francisco lived in the red zone all game and had to settle for field goals. Seattle has Tavaris Jackson has their quarterback and that's a problem alone. Too really delve deeper into this game, we have to look at the stats.
The 49ers were 1-for-12 on third downs in the game. Seattle wasn't much better at 5-for-15. Both teams combined for 20 penalties. Neither team had more than 220 total yards for the game. Neither quarterback threw for over 200 yards. Neither team had 90 total rushing yards.
The big difference of the game was Ted Ginn Jr. returning a kickoff and punt return for a touchdown. Of course Ginn had more combined return yards than the 49ers offense had total yards.
So yeah both of these teams are going to be bad. I have no idea which team is going to be worse because they're both equally inept. It just feels good to say the 49ers are 1-0 on the season and it was nice to be excited after one of their victories.
