Foul Ball: Crazy In the Desert

Arizona 4, Washington 9, 11 Innings: This game was great. Both managers were ejected because their pitchers played beanball. There were two Diamondback players hit by pitches and two Natinals players hit by a pitch including Danny Espinosa who was hit twice. Arizona scored three runs in the ninth to tie the game and send it to extras. Then in the eleventh, Rick Ankiel took ball four with the bases loaded to give Washington the lead. Michael Morse put the game out of reach the next AB by hitting a grand slam.

Boston 6, Oakland 3: The A's record this year against Boston and New York, 1-6. Even the Orioles occasionally win against Boston and New York. The Red Sox didn't blow a big lead in this game like they did on Saturday. Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez both hit home runs and even John Lackey can shut down the pathetic A's offense.

San Francisco 2, Colorado 1: The Giants were being no-hit until the sixth inning when Freddy Sanchez drove in the tying run. Andres Torres would then drive in the game-winning run in the eighth inning. Ryan Vogelsong continues to pitch brilliantly for the Giants going eight innings and giving up only four hits and one run on Sunday. Vogelsong has been so good, the Giants might have to find a place in the bullpen for Barry Zito once he returns from injury.

Florida 5, Milwaukee 6, 11 Innings: Milwaukee jumped out to a five nothing lead only to blow it in the sixth inning. The game eventually went to extra innings where Josh Wilson hit a solo home run in the top of the eleventh to give the Brewers the victory.

Baltimore 4, Toronto 7: In just his second game back from the disable list, Adam Lind went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs to help the Jays beat the other Birds of the AL East. And will someone shut down Jo-Jo Reyes. Since Reyes went 2,345 games without a victory, he's now won two games in a row. Give the guy the Cy Young right now.

Chicago 3, Detroit 7: Don't look now, but the Tigers are only two and a half games behind the Indians for first place in the AL Central. The kitty cats went to Chicago and took two out of three from the good guys. Ryan Raburn hit a grand slam on Sunday to go along with Miguel "What's his blood alcohol level?" Cabrera home run.

Cleveland 0, Texas 2: The Rangers arrived in Cleveland to face the majors best team and promptly swept the Tribe out of their own ballpark. Mitch Moreland and Elvis Andrus each hit solo home runs to give the Rangers their only runs. C.J. Wilson and two Rangers relievers shut down the Indians limiting them to only five baserunners on the day.
