Foul Ball: A Night Of Complete Games

Philadelphia 8, Florida 1: In the first game of a double-header, the Phillies thrashed the ankle breakers. Jimmy Rollins hit a three-run home run and drove in a total of 4 runs on the day. Kyle Kendrick pitched seven innings and gave up one run off of five hits and struck out five.

Philadelphia 5, Florida 4, 10 Innings: The ankle breakers are 3-18 since breaking God's ankle. Serves them right. Even better, the Marlins blew a two run lead in the ninth inning against the Phillies and then lost in the tenth inning and were swept in the double header. Carlos Ruiz broke the fishes hearts with an RBI single in the tenth inning.

Toronto 4, Baltimore 1: The last time the Orioles won in Toronto, Chris Bosh was still a Raptor for another year. Yes, the Orioles haven't won in Toronto since 2009, 16 straight games. And I thought the Giants had problems against the Padres last season. Ricky Ricardo Romero struck out 12 in eight inning while Yunel Escobar, Juan Rivera, and Adam Lind went deep.

Tampa Bay 0, Boston 3: On the night the Bruins won the cup, Josh Beckett was a Reid Brignac third-inning single away from throwing a perfect game. Beckett pitched the complete game giving up just that one hit, no runs, and struck out six. Kevin Youkilis drove in the only three runs of the game by hitting a home run in the seventh inning.

Washington 10, St. Louis 0: Livan Hernandez also threw a complete game shutout on the evening. Hernandez only gave three hits and struck out six in nine innings. Michael Morse continues destroying the baseball by hitting two home runs and driving in three runs. Even Jayson Werth drove in a run against the Cardinals!

Minnesota 4, Chicago 1: Carl Pavano also threw a complete game on Wednesday. Pavano gave up a run though and six hits and only struck out five. Delmon Young drove in two runs for the Twins who no longer have the worst record in baseball. So they have that going for them.

Ozzie Quote!: From the AP: “They are after you no matter what and not afraid to play,” Guillen said. “That’s the reason they’re in the pennant race every year.” Respect from Ozzie.

Arizona 2, San Francisco 5: Diamondbacks fans were pretty cocky coming into this game. Now they've seen their team lose twice in a row against the Giants. Madison Bumgarner pitched well enough to pick up the victory and Pat Burrell and Eli Whiteside hit triples. You read that right. Also the Giants protected a one-run lead with this sweet relay from Rowand-to-Tejada-to-Whiteside.

Oakland 2, Kansas City 1: The pitcher with the greatest name ever, Josh Outman, gave up four hits and no runs while picking up plenty of outmans (see what I did there?). Cliff Pennington and Daric Barton drove in the only runs of the night for the A's.

Detroit 4, Cleveland 6: With this victory, the Indians are now a percentage point ahead of the Tigers in the AL Central. This race is going to great all summer. Orlando Cabrera had three hits on the evening including the go-ahead double in the fifth inning. Matt LaPorta also drove in two runs for the Tribe.
