Detroit 4, Toronto 2: Jhonny Peraltra's eighth inning triple knocked in the go-ahead run as the Tigers beat the Blue Jays in a make up game. With that victory the Tigers moved to a game and a half ahead of the Indians in the AL Central. My favorite part of this game though was the Marlboro Man going off on one of those "I'm not leaving the field unless you kick me out" rants in the seventh inning. (Video via Sports Grid)
Chicago 7, Colorado 3: Both Aramis Ramirez and Carlos Pena hit two home runs on the evening and drove in three runs to help the Cubs beat the Rockies in a make up game. Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies also homered twice on the day. It was home run derby at Wrigley.
Tampa 0, Cincinnati 5: Jonny Gomes hit a towering home run against his former team that hit a catwalk and landed on the warning track. Quite the sight to witness. Mike "I'd rather steal from Macy's than pay the bill" Leake went six innings and only gave up four hits and two walks. Two Reds relievers combined with Leake to shut out the Rays.
Minnesota 0, Los Angeles 15: The Dodgers set two records on Monday. The Dodgers declared bankruptcy for the first time ever in their history and then pounded the Twins later in the day. The Dodgers also made history when everyone in their lineup had one hit, run, and RBI on the night.
Arizona 4, Cleveland 5: Arizona tied the game in the eighth inning off a Kelly Johnson RBI triple and then Orlando Cabrera broke the Snakes hearts. Cabrera hit a solo home run with two outs against Diamondbacks closer JJ Putz. The victory snapped the Indians three-game losing streak and keeps them one game behind Detroit in the AL Central.
