Foul Ball: Rainouts & Extra Innings

Pittsburgh vs Milwaukee, Baltimore vs New York, and Colorado vs New York were all rained out last night.

Detroit 5 Texas 4: The Rangers were gut punched twice in this game. First they lost Josh Hamilton who broke his arm sliding into home plate. Hamilton will be out for eight weeks. Then the Rangers lost on a bases loaded single by Miguel Cabrera in the bottom of the ninth. Not the greatest day for the Rangers.

White Sox 6 Oakland 5, 10 Innings: This Oakland-Chicago series has been fun. First Oakland won on Monday in extra innings then both teams followed that up with another extra inning games. Alexei Ramirez hit two home runs in the game including the walkoff shot in the bottom of the tenth off of Oakland reliever Bobby Cramer.

Minnesota 4 Kansas City 3, 10 Innings: Four Twins relievers combined to pitch four perfect innings to help Minnesota beat Kansas City. Danny Valencia knocked in the winning run in the tenth inning with a bases loaded single.

San Francisco 5 Los Angeles 4: The Giants needed this victory badly. They had lost two in a row and four out of the first five games to the Dodgers. They also needed to come back from some adversary and they did that as well in this game. The Giants came back from a three-run deficit to take the lead in the fifth inning after Lincecum struggled in the fourth inning. The Giants would blow that lead on a Marcus Thames home run in the seventh. The Giants would retake the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Aaron Rowand hit a leadoff triple and then would score on a wild pitch. Brian Wilson picked up his first save of the season striking out the side.

San Diego 2 Cincinnati 8, 11 Innings: This was a typical Padres game. Shutdown the opposing lineup with great pitching, produce runs with infield hits. Their bullpen though imploded in the eleventh inning giving up six runs. I saw the boxscore and immediately made this face.

Arizona 13 St. Louis 8: The Snakes pounded Chris Carpenter for eight hits, eight runs, two home runs, in only four innings. The amazing part is the Cardinals damn near came tied the game in the middle of the game, but their bullpen imploded and gave up four runs in the sixth. The Cardinals and Diamonbacks combined to hit 6 home runs, 30 hits, 21 runs, and 21 RBIs.
