Cincinnati 12 Milwaukee 3: The Brewers were a trendy pick at the beginning of this season to win the NL Central. They have now started the year by being swept by the reigning NL Central champion Cincinnati Reds. The Reds hit four home runs in the game including two by catcher Ryan Hanigan. So much for the trendy pick. Not even Paul Molitor can save them.
Texas 5 Boston 1: Another trendy preseason pick, the Red Sox, were also swept in their first series of the season. Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz homered in every game of the series including on Sunday to power the sweep. Matt Harrison pitched seven innings to pick up the victory. The Red Sox could use a 64 Miller Lite road trip with Wade Boggs right about now.
Philadelphia 7 Houston 3: Two years in a row now, the Houston Astros have been swept in the opening series of the season. Even worse this time their old pitcher Roy Oswalt beat them. Gonna be a long season in Houston. At least they won't be embarrassed by having to wear these uniforms the entire season.
Baltimore 5 Tampa Bay 1: Look out for the Baltimore Orioles. The Birds have started the season with a three-game sweep of the defending AL East champion.Rookie Zach Britton picked up the victory for the Orioles and newly acquired Mark Reynolds and JJ Hardy drove in the winning runs in the seventh inning for Baltimore. Speaking of atrocious uniforms.........
Chi Cubs 4 Pittsburgh 5: The Pirates won four road series last season and two of them were in Wrigley. So it shouldn't be surprising that the Pirates won another road series in Wrigley to start the season. This time the Cubs scored two runs in the ninth inning off of Cubs closer Carlos Marmol to rally to beat the Cubs in Wrigley once again.
LA 7 San Francisco 5: Nothing to recap other than to say the Giants need Cody Ross to get healthy quickly and they have some serious issues in the bullpen. Now excuse me as I bang my head against the wall.
Kansas City 12 Anaheim 9, in 13 Innings: Who knew a game involving the Royals would be so fun? The Royals rallied from two runs behind to tie the game in the ninth inning to send it into extra innings. In the bottom of the 13th inning, Mr. Misty May hit a game-winning three-run home run for the Royals to defeat the Angels of Orange County near Santa Ana.

Video of the Day: The best part of this commercial is the inside joke regarding of the coloring of the orange cleats.
Huff needs to be either platooned with Burrell in Left Field or needs to play 1st base. He's a disaster in RF.
