Foul Ball: A Day At The Park With Sarge

Yes, that's the great Gary "Sarge" Matthews in the middle.
San Francisco 1 St. Louis 6: This game sucked, but I couldn't have been happier sitting in the ballpark enjoying garlic fries and the cool Bay Area weather. The best of the game was the pre-game ceremony where Buster Posey was given his Rookie of the Year award. It's always great watching those ceremonies because the Giants always bring back the greats from their past like Gary "Sarge" Matthews.

Barry Zito Quote: From the AP recap: “All day I was battling my timing in the delivery,” Zito said. Typical Zito start. Couldn't control the strike zone. Threw damn near 100 pitches before the 6th inning. Then imploded in the 6th and had to be pulled.

Atlanta 0 Philadelphia 3: Hell of a way to recover from the terrible first start of the year for Cole Hamels. Go seven innings giving up four hits, one walk, no runs, while striking out eight batters. Shane Victorino went 3-for-4 with a home run.

Baltimore 0 Texas 3: The Rangers are off to a blazing start with an 8-1 record on the year. Adrian Beltre and Ian Kinsler both hit solo home runs in the game, Kinsler's fourth homer on the year already. Derek "I pooped my pants in relief in during game 2 of the 2010 World Series" Holland pitched in six innings scattering five hits and allowing no runs.

Oakland 5 Minnesota 3Twitter superstar Brandon McCarthy went 7 1/3 innings for the A's giving up nine hits and two runs, but was still able to pick up the victory. The Twins at this moment are awful on offense. They have a .203 batting average and .262 OBP as a team right now. That's terrible. Justin Morneau ain't helping the cause with his .185 batting average and .241 OBP with no home runs and one RBI.

Houston 7 Florida 1: JA Happ had to do everything in this game. He had to pitch in 7 2/3 innings and allowing only four hits and one run, while also hitting a double and driving in two runs. The Astros pitchers should take note. If you want to win on that team, do everything yourself.

Detroit 5 Kansas City 9: If Detroit didn't boot the ball all over the field, they may won this game. Kind of hard to win when the team commits four errors like the Tigers did on Sunday which lead to two Royals runs. Leyland must have smoked a carton of Cool's after this game. I know I would have if I smoked.

White Sox 6 Tampa Bay 1: Gavin Floyd pitched in eight innings giving up four hits, one run, and striking out eight in the White Sox victory. Chicago hit three home runs in the game including two by Paul Konerko.

Ozzie Guillen Quote: From the AP recap: “He’s aggressive, he throws strikes, his breaking ball was working,” White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. “He kept the ball down, that was key.” I expect a whole lot more from Ozzie than this.

Create a Caption: Shouldn't Mark Ellis know by now you have to swing with your eyes open?

Video of the Day: I have to admit. I like seeing Bochy show off his personality in these Giants commercials.
