For the 2nd time in two weeks Kris' Capitals face off against my Sharks. There's other sports as well tonight including the fascinating Bulls-Spurs game on TNT. Since it's raining sideways and the wind is howling where I live, I'll definitely be inside tonight. So enjoy whatever game you're watching, leave comments, and don't be a troll.
It was 57 degrees and clear skies here today. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI still have not figured out how a Penn State basketball game made its way onto ESPN tonight....
ReplyDeleteTNT dug up Dick Stockton to call the Bulls-Spurs game. I think I'll watch a movie.
ReplyDeleteIs it sad I am watching DePaul-Providence?
ReplyDelete/Big East bubble has me intrigued
//Don't ask why
DePaul is up double digits over Providence. This would be DePaul's 1st win in the Big East this year.
ReplyDelete/Am I the only one still watching?
All five Pacific division teams are in the top 8 playoff spots at the moment.
ReplyDeleteBeninati: "Tonight, a close encounter with Sharks on ice."
ReplyDelete/does Ebersol realize what he's missing?
Hahn: "Thornton has a big butt and I cannot lie."
ReplyDeleteHe must have been drinking with Beninati today. It's been cold and wet here and nothing else to do.
Providence has pulled within one of DePaul
ReplyDelete/Riveting game on ESPN2
Sorry Ovie. You're not going to push down Murray.
ReplyDeleteJesus, I was in 8th grade the last time the Caps won in San Jose.
ReplyDeleteAt least the Caps have beat the Sharks in the past 10 years. Cough. Flyers. Cough
ReplyDeleteDePaul will find someway to lose. It's Oliver Purnell's move.
ReplyDeleteNicely done by the Caps killing the penalty
ReplyDeleteI love the Murray vs. Ovie match up.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's the penalty by Eager.
ReplyDeleteAnd so it begins...
ReplyDeleteCAPTAIN AMERICA!
ReplyDeleteOvie ties it!
ReplyDeleteBeninati: "Ovie...rightbackatcha"
That high was short lived.
ReplyDeleteWow, Providence. Wow.
ReplyDelete1-1 in San Jose at the end of 1
ReplyDeleteDePaul wins!
ReplyDeleteBeninati: "The Caps; in the red, white, and blue far away from home."
ReplyDelete/secretly thinks he's Barry Tompkins in Rocky IV
Even though the Dunkin Donuts Center has been a bit of a hex for Villanova as of late, I do feel bad for Providence. Marshon Brooks is graduating, they have no big recruits coming in, and they just lost to DePaul, who prior to tonight had a 24 game losing streak in the Big East. And for some reason, ESPN2 decided to broadcast this humiliation.
ReplyDeletebtw, the Maryland women destroyed Duke tonight.
ReplyDelete@Justin ESPN loves it some Big East basketball, for some reason.
The thing with the Big East is it is probably the deepest conference in college basketball, but it's not top heavy like the Big 12 is. ESPN naturally likes it because of the huge northeast markets they get with the Big East and it is really deep.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's raining again........
ReplyDeleteWow. I was five years old the last time the Caps won in SJ.
ReplyDelete@Justin it is more about the markets than the quality of the basketball. The Big East is still going to be on ESPN every night of the week even in down years.
ReplyDeleteThis game seems to me to be a lot like the one in DC last Tuesday. One in which the Sharks are going to eventually run away with it.
ReplyDeleteRandy Hahn: "I had to wear all black today because it's so dark today."
ReplyDeleteThere has been a dark cloud hovering over California from SF to Tahoe today.
Randy Hahn singing a Meatloaf song may be the highlight of my week.
ReplyDelete12th Greatest Shark: Kelly Kisio
ReplyDeleteWas with the Sharks when they first existed. Was actually the first Sharks All-Star.
Beninati & Craig Laughlin mocking the Shark Tank broadcast location
ReplyDeleteLaughin: "too bad I forgot my binoculars"
Beninati: "So just watch the 9 inch monitor."
Laughin: "I'm not sure anyone's going to be up to see my promo."
ReplyDelete@Kris: When the Sharks broadcast booth was moved a few years ago, Randy and Drew complained about it non stop as well.
ReplyDeleteWow. Beninati goes from probably doing the Caps/Pens game on Versus Monday night, to hosting a viewing party for it in DC.
ReplyDeleteClowe gives the Sharks the lead.
ReplyDeleteCLOWE!
ReplyDelete@Keith so, the press box used to be much lower in the arena?
ReplyDeletefor Justin:
ReplyDeleteBeninati: "20 bucks goes a long way in Newark, does it not?"
Laughlin: "No, it really doesn't."
@Kris: The press box was much lower, but moved a couple of seasons ago to add more seats. Needless to say Randy and Drew were not pleased.
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to switch to the naked women on HDNet
ReplyDeleteBoyle!
ReplyDeleteYep...I'm off to HDNet
ReplyDeleteNice job Demers
ReplyDeleteThe Caps are still going to be winless in San Jose...
ReplyDeleteDammit
ReplyDeletewow....Backstrom's 1st goal in forever
ReplyDeleteA clinic from the Sharks in how to kill the clock
ReplyDeleteI can finally take a breathe now. The Sharks make these games way too close at the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith, & enjoy the win.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Kris.
