Thursday Night Open Thread
We have NFL (Colts-Titans), NBA (Sixers-Celtics and Magic-Blazers), college football, and NHL games tonight. There's also an college football awards show tonight that doesn't involve the Heisman. The game I'm more interested in tonight is the wonderful non-conference college basketball game between Georgetown and Temple. Should be a fun night. Enjoy the games, leave comments, and don't be a troll.

Pierre for Flyers/Leafs...must be the dream doubleheader for him
ReplyDelete"He devours them shorthanded" Pierre on Mike Richards...just like last night with Crosby
ReplyDeleteClassic creepy Pierre laughing when Gord brings up Gretzky being in town checking in his wine
ReplyDeleteAs Leafs fan boo, Gord Miller with a jem "Luongo is no where to be found"
ReplyDeleteNo Remenda tonight on the Sharks broadcast in Buffalo. Jamie Baker is filling in and he had this classic quote on this fluky goal the Sabres scored in the 1st period.
ReplyDelete"They should give credit for that goal to Mike Grier. The poor guy can barely score on an open net."
Baker is talking about the time Grier whiffed on a shot at a open net.
Pierre is now giving faceoff advice to the Leafs. They have been garbage in the circle.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about how much I despise Hawes on the defensive side of the court.
ReplyDelete"Danny Briere with slick hands" Pierre #OutofContext
ReplyDeleteDammit IUPUI. You had a 50-41 lead over #2 AnOSU in the 2nd half, only to start missing shots. And not being able to stop Jared Sullinger.
ReplyDeleteSo I just woke up from a four and a half hour nap I had no plan on taking. Geez.
ReplyDeleteAnOSU wins 75-64. Sullinger had 40 and 13. Who says you can't 'Dominate the Nation' as a Buckeye? #TerrellePryor
ReplyDeleteI'm just guessing, but that long tribute to Lee Corso at the College Football awards show means his time on Gameday is is almost at an end.
ReplyDeleteNice jacket, Sager.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.the700level.com/craig-sager-looking-rather-purple-tonight.html
Phaneuf lays out Shelley and it leads to the Flyers 4th goal. Shelley gets 10 min misconduct for taunting.
ReplyDeleteMore classic creepy Pierre laughing when a puck goes into the Flyer bench and Jeff Carter I believe catches it.
ReplyDeletePierre just told Brian Boucher's junior hockey life story. A game isn't complete without it.
ReplyDeleteNewton for his teammates: "I'll whip up a big batch of Cammy Cam Juice for them."
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I bypassed most of the awards show, even if I had to watch the Buckeyes.
I do want to see that Corso tribute, though.
Temple-Georgetown could use more Raft.
ReplyDeleteOof Flyers killing the Laffs in the circle 33-15
ReplyDelete"Mike Richards is an underrated player" Pierre with a major understatement
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Pierre Garcon. 14-0 Colts.
ReplyDeleteEven more classic creepy Pierre laughing when Gord brought up Richards and Augusta
ReplyDeleteHow did Temple lose to Cal? The Bears are terrible.
ReplyDeletePierre's Monster of the Night - huge shocking surprise Mike Richards #sarcasm
ReplyDeleteThe conversation at Broad Street Hockey has degenerated into a conversation about "moist panties"....
ReplyDelete/I love that blog
I can only imagine that intolerable Pierre McGuire must be doing a Flyers-Leafs game. Actually, aspeaking of moist panties.....
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm watching The Year Without A Santa Claus. Big whoop. Wanna fight about it? #GrownAssKid
ReplyDeleteFlyers took a 4-1 lead into the 3rd period........and won the game 4-1. Imagine that.
ReplyDelete/last night'd
Oy ve, Titans.
ReplyDelete@RJBO: No big deal, I watched A Nightmare Before Christmas last night.
ReplyDelete"He sees Tamme come out in his face." - Joe Theismann
ReplyDeleteEwwww
2nd TD for Garcon. Thanks, Colts for sparing the World from watching Millen & Theismann in the 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteJODIE MEEKS!
ReplyDeleteTD CJ28
ReplyDeleteTITANS SCORE AN OFFENSIVE TD!
ReplyDeleteChris Johnson!
A "Disconcerting signals" penalty on the Colts? First, "Leverage," now this....
ReplyDeleteMillen/Theismann makes me want to listen to more Pierre
ReplyDelete"I think when you make mistakes, you know it." - Matt Millen
ReplyDeleteHe would know.
Paul Hogan wants his hat back, Jack Arute. I better turn this game off now. #BTN #2005AnOSU-MichiganGameReplay
ReplyDelete"My head is cold."-McDonough
ReplyDelete81-80 Celtics after 3. Amazing that it is this close.
ReplyDeleteTemple is beating Georgetown. What is it and Philadelphia basketball teams determined to spring an upset tonight?
ReplyDeleteI'm a Villanova fan first, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for Fran Dunphy and Temple.
ReplyDeleteTemple can be your A-10 school to root for.
ReplyDeleteOh, foolish Blair White. Took an easy TD away from Reggie Wayne and dropped it.
ReplyDeleteJODIE MEEKS!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePapa: "The Colts haven't missed the playoffs since 1981." Really?
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Temple is my A-10 School.
ReplyDeleteAll the other A-10 schools in Philly are secondary to me.
I think 1981 was one of the last times the Isles were relevant
ReplyDeleteKevin Harlan screaming > Marc Zumoff screaming
ReplyDeleteIGUODALA WITH 6.6 LEFT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMiller: "The new A.I. with the running hook." Presented without comment.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Celtics win it.
ReplyDeleteGo Owls!
Garnett's gonna celebrate that GW basket by tripping a blind kid outside the arena.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no RJBO. Garnett is going to celebrate by telling a cancer riddled kid he's going die and should get used to that fact.
ReplyDeleteBut, Keith. He apologized to George Karl! #StillAPrick
ReplyDelete6.6 seconds was way too much time to leave the Celtics at the end of that game. That was an inevitable finish.
ReplyDeleteThe Owls are about to pull a Sixers.
ReplyDeleteTEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHEY RUSH THE COURT IN THE LIACOURAS CENTER!!!!!!
ReplyDelete400 wins for Fran Dunphy. What a way to get #400.
Touchdown Bo Scaife. I can't believe this became a game.
ReplyDeleteGreat game for the Owls.
ReplyDeleteNow to finally watch Colts-Titans.
ReplyDelete3 and out for the Colts. That's huge. #CaptainObvious
ReplyDeleteTheismann: "(The Colts) don't lose that often." How did they get a 6-6 record? Forfeits?
ReplyDeleteTemple has beaten Maryland, Georgia, Seton Hall, and now Georgetown. That's a decent looking resume thus far. They get Villanova on December 30, Duke on February 23, and they get the A-10 schedule which is looked highly upon by the NCAA.
ReplyDelete3 timeouts. Smart move to punt.
ReplyDeleteA draw on 3rd and 5???
ReplyDeleteGARCON! TITANS TACKLING FAIL!
ReplyDeleteWhy did that have to be to Garcon?
ReplyDelete/Fantasy'd
I'm not sure if I've ever heard Bob Papa scream like that before.....
@Justin: But they lost to a Cal team who only scored five points in one half against Notre Dame. #Notagoodlookfortheirresume
ReplyDeleteVinateri's 47 yard FG is GOOD. 30-21 Colts.
ReplyDeleteHaha, the Broad Street Hockey 3rd period thread is up to 900 comments. It's seriously epic, that is, if you are into conversations about moist panties and nipples....
ReplyDeleteVery heads up play by CJ28.
ReplyDelete@Justin: That's nothing. We had a 2,500 comment thread at McCovey Chronicles live blogging the Star Wars marathon on Spike during the Summer.
ReplyDelete#We'renerds
VeryFakeAlDavis Fake Al Davis
ReplyDeleteYou won't be laughing when Theismann and Millen find bin Laden.
Go on Tennessee, keep giving it to CJ28.
ReplyDelete@ Keith: Haha. That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteCollins is lucky that was a free play.
ReplyDeletePortland has so many injuries, they have poor Donte Cunningham trying to guard Dwight Howard at Center.
ReplyDeleteTerrible clock management by Tennessee. I had no problem with the punt, but I think Millen and Theismann were right, you need to kick a field goal to give yourself a chance in this game.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness CJ28 righted the ship tonight. And thank goodness I did not bench him. 23.9 fantasy points. I'll take that.
ReplyDelete...maybe it wasn't the best idea to start dozing off to Reservoir Dogs. #IFC #TortureScene
