MNF/College Basketball Open Thread

Tonight is a big sports night. Monday Night Football, NBA, NHL, and college basketball tips-off tonight. College basketball tips-off with the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament. This is the tournament that is designed to have top basketball programs meet in Madison Square Garden for the championship by having those top teams play teams like UC Irvine and Seattle. It's usually a fun little tournament. I'm just happy that college basketball has returned. As always enjoy the game you're watching, leave comments, and don't be a troll.

CBB: Rhode Island at Pittsburgh 7:00 (ESPNU)
CBB: UC Irvine at Illinois 8:00 (ESPN3)

  9. I'm watching the UC Irvine-Illinois game on ESPN3 (I don't have ESPNU) and the color commentator just said Illinois has the most talented team in the nation.

I know they're talented, but the most talented?

  11. I've stopped listening to Reghi's radio show, unless Browns fans start talking about the playoffs (which they did today).

    ReplyDelete
  12. @RJBO did Reghi do it from DC today?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Kenny Roda did it solo (he normally co-hosts with Reghi); Browns fans are hilarious at times.

  14. Why is the Comcast Center look so empty?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Keith he did Orioles games for 7 years... his style did not work at all with a terrible team

    ReplyDelete
  22. Why does he host a talk show in Cleveland?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Keith, he used to do the games for the Cavaliers before Dan Gilbert fired him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sounds like Maryland is his last opportunity...........

  30. Touchdown Steelers as Pittsburgh capitalizes on the botched kickoff

    ReplyDelete
  31. Whenever URI's Malesevic commits a foul, the Oakland Zoo chants "U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!"

    ReplyDelete
  32. URI continues to keep it relatively close, down 70-65 with 4:27 left.

    ReplyDelete
  33. A game effort from the Rams, but I think they're cooked

  50. Ron Winter going to the Ed Hochuli School of Explanations. Refreshing.

BTW, great that The Generalissimo didn't fine (or suspend) anyone for that Austin Collie hit.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Andy Reid is embarrassed by that challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @ RJBO: Agreed. A refreshing surprise, as I was sure he would lose 50K, just because they want to crackdown and severely punish so much.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The fact that Mark Collins had a more blatant hit in the Dallas game later also helped.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jeff Reed nails a 53 yard FG. 20-7 Steelers near halftime.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  63. T.O. just nailed a security guard on his TD catch.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Roy Williams picks off Big Ben. Bengals with a pulse, plus a dumb personal foul by Flozell Adams.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Geez Steelers. A chintzy roughing the passer call on Casey Hampton, now T.O. whines his way to a PI in the end zone.

    ReplyDelete
  66. The NFL has become a joke. I can't wait for the 18 game schedule...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Al Riveron thought that was a late TD signal.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Now the Bengals are within a touchdown

    ReplyDelete
  69. That 18-game schedule is a disaster waiting to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Last chance time for Cincy.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Why would you throw into double coverage to a rookie?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Incomplete. Game (and season) over for the Bungles.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cincy just knows how to lose...
