Must List: Week 7

Thankfully the NLCS starts on Saturday, because the college football slate is one again bland. The blandness of the week is personified once again by the Gameday location: Madison, Wisconsin. I'm not saying Ohio State at Wisconsin isn't interesting, but with Wisconsin sitting at one loss for the season this game doesn't have the same meaning. Same goes for Nebraska vs. Texas. This was suppose to be an epic Big 12 championship game rematch. Instead it's just another game since Texas has lost two games in a row. Of course we could see another Florida-LSU game and I could be completely wrong about this week's slate of college football games.

Announcing schedule via the506.

October, 14th
South Florida at West Virginia (7:30, ESPN)- This game would have been more interesting if South Florida was a little better or the Big East was a little better as a conference. This will be West Virginia's first conference game and if the past indicates anything, West Virginia is prone to losing one conference game they shouldn't. Would it really surprise anyone if South Florida went into Morgantown and defeated the Mountaineers?

October, 16th
Boston College at Florida State (Noon, ESPN)- Pretty sad when this is the most exciting morning game, but it is. Even worse, Mike Patrick and Craig James will be calling this game. I would tell you more about this game, but I just went into an epileptic seizure. Let's just move on.

Arkansas at Auburn (3:30, CBS)- Arkansas returns to SEC conference play after their crushing defeat to Alabama. Auburn on the other hand is actually undefeated and ranked ahead of Alabama. The key to this game will be the quarterback play, obvious. The defenses in this game will have their hands full with Ryan Mallett and Cam Newton. Should be an interesting game.

Iowa at Michigan (3:30, ABC or ESPN)- I know Michigan lost last week and Iowa is undefeated in conference play. Doesn't matter because Michigan can still play the role as a spoiler. Iowa has to go into the big house and stop Denard Robinson. If they can do that, then I'll buy them as a Big Eleven Twelve Ten favorite.

Texas at Nebraska (3:30, ABC or ESPN)- This game takes on a whole different meaning since Texas has lost two games in a row. Nebraska though still has to extract the ghosts from last year's Big XII championship game. So even though Texas is a two-loss team, Nebraska still has to prove they're ready for national title contention by defeating Texas. This will also most likely be the last game these two teams play against each other since Nebraska is moving on to the Big Ten next season.

California at USC (3:30, FSN)- I know no one outside of the Bay Area and Los Angeles (And that might even be a stretch) are interested in this game, but I am. I'm interested to see if Cal can finally defeated USC, something that hasn't happened since Aaron Rodgers was a Sophomore. Cal actually has a good defense, capable of stopping the USC offense, but once again their trick-or-treat offense has to actually show up.

Ohio State at Wisconsin (7:00, ESPN)- Once again, why am I suppose to care about this game? Because Ohio State is undefeated and has to play in front of the drunks in Madison? If Wisconsin wasn't so one-dimensional I would give them a chance in this game. I can't pick Wisconsin in this game for that reason alone, even if they're playing in front of the drunks in Madison.

Alabama at Ole Miss (9:15, ESPN2)- Could this be a potential upset? You wouldn't think so until you factor that Alabama has to stop Jeremiah Masoli, Ole Miss has home field advantage, and Houston Nutt's teams have been known to pull the upset. Remember Houston Nutt's teams defeated LSU and Florida the years those schools won national championships. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Ole Miss pulled the upset.

Recipe of the Week, Pumpkin Bread Puddin': I'm a big fan of bread pudding. This is just bread pudding, but with a little seasonal twist. The recipe calls for a dollop of whipped cream on top of the warm pumpkin break puddin'. My mouth is watering just thinking it.

Alcoholic Beverage of the Week, Long Island Ice Tea: I've been a fan of Long Island Ice Tea's since I turned 21. It's a drink composing of vodka, tequila, gin, rum, sweat and sour mix, and a soda of your choice (mostly Coca-Cola). While there is no actual tea in the drink, it tastes just like a glass of tea. Just a delicious drink.

  1. The Thursday Night games are so bad, ESPN has decided to run the Dr. Lou segment before the game starts instead of halftime.

Isn't that a Gary Williams and not a Long Island Ice Tea?
