Boston 2 Tampa Bay 8: Time to hit the panic button in Boston. On Patriots Day, the Red Sow were swept right out of their own building. The Rays pounded John Lackey for nine hits, eight runs in only 3 1/3 innings. B.J. Upton launched a home run off of Lackey to cap off a five-run third inning for the Rays.
Arizona 2 St. Louis 4: When Matt Holliday isn't dropping pop up's in the playoffs, he's going 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBI's. Colby Rasmus drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning for the Cardinals.
New York 6 Chicago 1: The Mets needed help at 1st base and Ike Davis provided this for them. Davis, a top prospect for the Mets, was a late call up by the Mets yesterday. Davis picked up his first hit and RBI in the game as the Mets easily handled the Cubs. Jeff Samardzija better go back to football before Cubs fans kill him because he gave up another three runs in the game.
Seattle 8 Baltimore 2: Doug Fister took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Orioles until Nick Markakis broke it up with a clean single. It didn't matter for the Orioles as Ken Griffey Jr. turned back the clock and drove two runs to go along with the three runs Casey Kotchman drove in. I feel like Chip Caray should be announcing every game Fister pitches.
San Diego 3 San Francisco 2, 10 innings: I don't like David Eckstein. He's a midget who loves to torment Giants fans like myself. I'm pretty sure he kicks kittens and clubs baby seals. He's evil incarnated.
Anaheim 2 Detroit 0: Joel Pineiro pitched eight innings giving up no runs, nine hits and picking up the win for the Angels. Fernando Rodney didn't do his normal high wire act against his former team to pick up the save. Dontrelle Willis started the game for Detroit and he didn't pitch that bad. Willis gave up four hits and two runs in six innings of work. Too bad the Detroit offense failed him, he could have used the confidence.
I agree, David Eckstein is evil incarnated.
