Foul Ball: A Giants Fail

Houston 4 San Francisco 10: Yes the Giants scored 10 runs. Yes two Giants players homered in the game. Yes the Giants had 19 hits in the game, including 5 from Edgar Renteria. The struggling Aaron Rowand finally broke his streak. And yes the Giants swept the pitiful Astros. None of this will be talked about tomorrow. That's because Eugenio Velez's jersey was misspelled. Yes the Giants jersey makers made a Natinal type of mistake. Velez's jersey was spelled "San Fran-cic-so." Fail! The jersey makers also misspelled Travis Ishikawa's name.

Eugenio Velez Quote: Velez commented on the jersey misspelling, via the AP: "No, no, I didn't know," he told The Associated Press by cell phone from the team bus on the way to the airport. "That's the first I've heard."

Arizona 5 San Diego 3: The Padres sucks, but you have to watch their games just because of Dick Enberg announcing the games.

Oakland 6 Seattle 5: Oh Milton Bradley. Good ole Milton completely miffed a pop up at the warning track by Kurt Suzuki with the game tied in the ninth inning and with a runner on first. Needless to say the runner scored and the A's won on a walk-off. Good thing Milton isn't still playing in Chicago, the city might have caused him to drop that pop up.

Boston 1 New York Yankees 3, 10 innings: Welcome to New York Curtis Granderson. Curtis has hit two home runs in three games including a game-winning shot last night in the tenth inning against the Red Sox. What was so good about Granderson's home run last night was that it was off that d-bag Jonathon Papelbon.

Pittsburgh 4 Los Angeles 3, 10 innings: I would like to thank the Pittsburgh Pirates for taking the first two games from the Dodgers. Last night the Pirates beat the Dodgers in in 10 innings. Ronny Cedeno singled with the bases loaded and one out to drive in the winning run of the game. The Pittsburgh relievers combined to go five innings giving up only 1 hit and no runs.

New York Mets 6 Florida 7, 10 innings: Wes Helms slid head first barely beating out Rod Barajas' sweeping tag in the tenth inning to give the Marlins their first victory of the year. Ronny Paulino drove in the winning after the Marlins bullpen gave up three runs to allow the Mets to tie the game. Starting pitcher Rickey Nolasco went 6 2/3 innings giving up three hits and three runs for the Marlins.

  1. I could listen to Enberg read San Diego advertisements all day long.
