Foul Ball: Sideburns, hats, and Kawakami

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

11 Tampa Bay 7 Detroit: Check out this box score from this game. Tampa Bay scored eleven runs and had 14 hits. Even though Detroit loss, the Tigers still managed to score seven runs off of 13 hits. Tampa Bay struck first with a six run first inning off Detroit starter Jarrod Washburn. Washburn has only gone 1-1 in five starts with the Tigers.

5 Atlanta 2 Florida: Ken Kawakami went six innings for the Braves, giving up six hits and one run to pick up the victory. Braves centerfielder Omar Infante went 2 for 4 with two RBI's in the game. Adam LoRoche proved why he sucks in the game by going 1 for 4 with three strikeouts.

18 Toronto 10 Texas: This game was crazy. Toronto jumped out to an 11-run lead. Then they almost blew the lead giving up 10 runs to Texas. Then Toronto exploded for seven runs in the ninth inning to slam the door on Texas. Adam Lind went 3 for 5 with two home runs and eight RBI's for Toronto.

5 Houston 3 Chicago: Carlos Lee homered and drove in four runs to help Houston beat Chicago. Roy Oswalt picked up only his second victory in eight games. Astros centerfielder Michael Bourn made a diving catch in the ninth inning to end the game. After not being traded, Rich Harden picked up the loss for Chicago.

4 Minnesota 1 Chicago: The White Sox have officially given up on the season. The White Sox have lost eight out of nine games and they traded away slugger Jim Thome. Joe Mauer and his sideburns homered in the game and lifted his batting average to .368.

5 Arizona 3 Los Angeles in 10: The Giants actually gained ground on the Dodgers without even playing. The greatness known as Rusty Ryal homered in the tenth inning off of Jason McDonald. George Sherrill and his hat blew the save when he gave up an home run to Justin Upton. I love it when the Dodgers lose.

  2. I am as a Phils fan. We should sweep this series with relative ease.

  3. @Yopper, obviously you have never watched the Giants. They don't go down that easy.

  4. I'm so fucking pissed about the Giants and baseball, that Foul Ball will go on hiatus for the week. Let's just say that I'm ready for the 49ers to break my heart. But the Links are here forever.........They go down easy enough that you would rather start watching the 49ers.....
