Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap9 Chicago 5 Boston: The only reason this game is mentioned at the top is because the Red Sox used a position player at pitcher last night. Nick Green pitched the last two innings of the game for Boston giving up no runs, no hits, and three walks. Here's what Green said after the game, “I didn’t know what to expect,” he said. “I haven’t thrown a strike to a batter in like 11 years.”
7 Texas 2 New York: Ian Kinsler homered twice, Chris Davis also homered as the Rangers bullpen held onto the lead for the win. In total Kinsler went 2 for 4 with the two homer's and four RBI's. Davis drove in three runs in the game. Oh yeah, Derek Jeter may or may not be engaged to Minka Kelly.
3 Los Angeles 2 Colorado: Vicente fucking Padilla actually shut down the red hot Rockies. In his first start with the Dodgers, Padilla went five innings giving up six hits and two runs to record the victory. Matt Kemp hit a two run home run in the first inning and Rafael Furcal drove in the other run for the Dodgers in the game.

2 Oakland 0 Anaheim: Trevor Cahill and two A's relievers actually shut out one of the best offenses in baseball. Cahill and the relievers combined for a three-hit shutout. Ryan Sweeney was a double away from the cycle.
3 Pittsburgh 2 Philadelphia: Where's that scumbag from JFein's blog? His mighty Phillies lost two out of three games to the lowly Pirates. J.A. Happ gave up an eighth inning two-run home run to Garrett Jones.
11 Arizona 0 San Francisco: Where's that scumbag from JFein's blog? His pitiful Giants were crushed last night by the pitiful Diamondbacks. Oh wait! That's me! Let's just move on........

That scumbag is right here laughing at that pathetic loss that the Giants had to endure. The San Francisco Giants- the team with Lincecum and Cain...but after that.... NO STARTING PITCHING
ReplyDeleteI'd disagree. I have not been following them that closely this year so I don't know who is injured right now, but they still have Barry Zito who has been good since the all-star break, Captain No-Hitter Jonathan Sanchez, and Randy Johnson if and when he returns.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ashamed to admit that the Giants probably have some of the best pitching in the majors, but their offense seems to kill them. And I'm also not ashamed to admit that the Giants are the only team in the NL that I do not want the Phillies to face in the playoffs.

ReplyDeleteProbable pitching match-ups for Giants-Phillies series
ReplyDeleteSanchez vs. Hamels
Joe Martinez vs. Happ
Cy Young Battle: Lincecum vs. Pedro Martinez
You missed counted, Yopper, Giants do not face Cliff Lee this upcoming series. But once again, the Phillies avoid facing Cain, although we do see Lincecum again.
Right now injuries have been killing the Giants. No Freddy Sanchez, Bengie Molina, or Pablo Sandoval. The pitching staff is barely surviving right now.
ReplyDeleteSanchez though is suppose to come back for the Philly series.
ya i no i miss counted....said that last night. Giants dont scare me. The trick to them is to get early runs which the Phillies have been doing greatly lately. Early runs could take a weak offense right out of the game.
