Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap10 Rays 4 Royals: Better start looking out, because the Rays are only 5.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East and only 2.5 games behind the Red Sox in the AL Wild Card. Carl Crawford had three hits, three RBI's and one stolen base in the game against Kansas City. Scott Kazmir has finally started to look like the dominating pitcher from last season. After beating the Yankees last Tuesday, Kazmir went six plus innings to beat the Royals.
6 Tigers 5 Orioles: The Tigers needed this win badly. And they especially needed a walk off win. Clete Thomas hit a game-winning home run with two outs in the ninth inning to give Detroit the victory. Is there a better baseball name than Clete? Baltimore hung a five spot on Justin Verlander in the first inning, but Detroit responded by driving in three runs in the first and they added three more runs throughout the game. Think Baltimore will miss George Sherrill much?
6 Diamondbacks 5 Mets: Wow, just wow. The Mets allowed the pitiful Diamondbacks to beat them three out of four games. Mark Reynolds hit two home runs in spacious Bailout Field. Dan Haren went seven innings allowing eight hits, five runs, one walk, and three strikeouts. The Mets left 12 men on base during the game.
4 Astros 3 Giants: After my incredible high from yesterday's game, I came back crashing down to Earth. But that's why watching a Giants game is like taking drugs. You love the high and you will do anything in the world to feel that way again. There was no one to blame in this game but the Giants hitters. They are the only team that can have 11 hits in a game and still lose. They are the only team in the majors that can load the bases with one out and not score a run. The guy I feel sorry for is Matt Cain. Once again he pitches his guts out and still loses. But he should be used to that by now.

4 Cubs 2 Reds: Former catcher Randy Wells has now won four straight decisions for the Chicago Cubs. Wells even took a shutout into the eighth inning before finishing the game with six hits and one run allowed. Mike Foutenot hit a two-run home run in the game. Dusty Baker went Dusty Baker allowing his starting pitcher to throw way over 100 pitches. When Aaron Harrang's arm falls off, we can say it was Dusty Baker'd.
6 Brewers 5 Dodgers: There was some drama in this game. Brewers closer had already given up three runs and was clinging onto a three-run lead. The bases were loaded with two outs and Manny Ramirez was coming up to the plate. Hoffman was able to get Ramirez to fly out to end the drama filled game.
3 A's 2 Rangers: Rajai Davis hit a two-run game-winning triple with two outs in the ninth inning to give Oakland the victory over Texas. Think the Giants could still use him in their outfield?
