Foul Ball: Bad Umpiring

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

4 Giants 2 Dodgers in 10: This game was beyond bizarre. Let's just get the on-field action out of the way early. Tim Lincecum pitched great again to pick up the no decision. Juan Uribe sucked then redeemed himself with a game-winning home run. Other than that the game was weird. The umpires in this series were beyond bad. And also they were very slanted in the Dodgers favor. In the fifth inning, Pablo Sandoval was hit in the elbow by a Dodgers pitcher. The benches were cleared but no punches were thrown. Here's the deal though, Sandoval was clearly hit by the pitch, but the umpire said the ball struck his bat and was a foul ball. Wrong. Then the first base umpire Gary Darling blew two calls at first base. And they were easy calls. Giants manager Bruce Bochy was thrown out in the 2nd inning. Then Giants interim manager Ron Wotus was thrown out in the eighth inning. The Giants almost ran out of managers in the game. In the end though, the umpiring in this game and series was atrocious and they should be punished for their bad umpiring.

4 Yankees 3 Blue Jays in 11: Robinson Cano drove in A-Roid in the eleventh inning to beat Toronto to cap off a successful home stand. The Yankees though are starting to see quite a few of the players get hurt. Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, and A-Roid are all hurting right now.

8 Red Sox 2 Tigers: Before the game started both Kevin Youkilis and Rick Porcello were suspended five games for this little incident. Once the game started it was all Josh Beckett. Beckett became the first pitcher in the majors to win 14 games. Josh went seven innings giving up three hits, two runs, two home runs, and six strikeouts.

12 Phillies 5 Cubs: Si Si Pedro. Pedro Martinez made his debut for the Phillies and went five innings giving up seven hits, three runs, and five strikeouts. The Phillies exploded for eight runs in the fifth inning and hit a total of three home runs in the game. I would have loved to see Jamie Moyer come out of the pen to relieve Pedro in the game. Best moment of this game was when a Cubs fan threw a beer on Phillie Shane Victorino.

14 Astros 6 Marlins: After blowing the lead yesterday, the Houston Astros held onto it yesterday. Houston exploded for five runs in the first innings and seven in the fourth. Hunter Pence hit two home runs and drove in six runs. Lance Berkman is back 0ff the DL and went 2 for 3 with two RBI's. The Big Puma is back on the prowl.

5 Rangers 0 Indians: The Double-A Indians were shut out by Tommy Hunter and the Rangers. Hunter went 7 2/3 innings giving up six hits, no runs, and five strikeouts. When he's not falling off the wagon, Josh Hamilton went 3 for 4 driving in two RBI's. Texas is only a game and a half behind Boston in the AL Wild Card standings.

CREATE A CAPTION: HERE'S RECTUM FACE GETTING A BEER THROWN ON HIM. PICTURE'S OF THE YEAR IN MY OPINION.
