Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap8 Red Sox 5 A's: Fail drug test be damned! David Ortiz hit a double and the go ahead three-run home run in the seventh inning to help Boston beat Oakland. Before the game started it was revealed that Ortiz was one of the names on the 2003 list of players who failed PED drug tests.
12 Cubs 3 Astros: This is the second straight game the Cubs have hammered the Astros. The Cubs split the four-game series with the Astos. The Astros received a gutty performance from Russ Ortiz- 2 1/3 innings, 9 hits, 9 runs, 3 walks, 3 strikeouts, and 3 home runs. The funny thing about this game is, after it was over, both starting pitchers were no longer with their ballclub. Astros pitcher Ortiz was released and Cubs pitcher Jake Fox was traded to Pittsburgh.

7 Brewers 3 Nationals: The Nationals finally returned back to Earth. After winning four straight, they have now lost two straight. The Brewers lineup finally played to their potential. Craig Counsell and Prince Fielder each homered. Yovani Gollardo struck out 11 to pick up the win for Milwaukee.

7 Orioles 3 Royals: After trading closer George Sherrill to the Dodgers earlier in the day, the Orioles went out and beat Kansas City. Five different Orioles players drove in runs in the game and Aubrey Huff added 3 RBI's. Orioles starting pitcher Brad Bergesen went went seven innings giving up seven hits and one run. Former basketball player Mark Hendrickson finished the game off for Baltimore. Hendrickson is the only baseball player in the league, who can say Michael Jordan dunked on him.
7 Mets 0 Rockies, Game 1: Johan Santana went seven innings to pick up the victory for the streaking Mets. New York has now won five straight. Santana struck out eight and only allowed four hits and no runs. The Mets drove in five runs in the second innings and David Wright drove in two runs in the game. Omar Minaya apologized to Daily News writer Adam Rubin before the game.
4 Rockies 2 Mets, Game 2: Jorge De La Rosa has now won seven straight decisions. De La Rosa went 6 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs. Clint Barmas hit a tie-breaking two-run home run the in the seventh inning. Houston Street pick up his 26th save of the season.
3 White Sox 2 Yankees: After he was the hero in the Mark Buehrle perfect game, DeWayne Wise was the hero Thursday night. Wise drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth against the Yankees. This is what happens when you have Phil Coke closing out the game instead of Mariano Riveria.
7 Giants 2 Phillies: Panda power showed up last night. Pablo Sandoval homered and drove in four runs to help the Giants beat the Phillies. The redemption of Eugenio Velez continued with him driving in three runs. Jonathon Sanchez picked up his first victory since throwing a no-hitter on July 10th.
