Foul Ball: Red Sox Own the Yankees

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

9 Giants 4 Diamondbacks: This was probably the most impressive game the Giants have played all season. After falling behind 4-2 after the third inning, most game the Giants would have never been able to come back. Not this game. Pablo Sandoval had four hits, a home run, and drove in three runs. Matt Cain shook off a shaky start to go 6 1/3 innings striking out six batters.

7 Red Sox 0 Yankees: To say the Red Sox own the Yankees doesn't even describe it. The Red Sox have beat the Yankees six straight times to start the season. Josh Beckett looked like a Cy Young Award pitcher going six innings giving up only one hit and striking out eight. David Ortiz hit another home run and the Boston crowd gave another standing ovation. That was the only pathetic part of the game for the Red Sox.

6 Mets 5 Phillies: Johan Santana actually defied a bunt signal from a coach and doubled in the tying run of the game. Carlos Beltran, David Wright, and Ryan Church all added home runs to give Santana run support. Santana went seven innings allowing eight hits and five runs, but he was still able to pick up the win. The Mets are now two games behind the Phillies for the division lead.

3 Rockies 2 Brewers: Colorado continues their hot streak on the road. They have now won six straight games on the road. And last night they rallied from a 2-run deficit in the seventh inning to pick up the win. Side note of the game is Yorvit Torrealba will return to Colorado after his son and brother-in-law was kidnapped and released in Venezuela.

7 Tigers 6 White Sox in 10: Miguel Cabrera's solo home run in the 10th inning would give the Tigers the win over Chicago. Cabrera had been in a slump prior to this game. Fernando Rodney blew the save in the ninth inning by allowing three runs to the White Sox.

3 Reds 2 Nationals: Washington may be going into a war with Stephen Strasburg over contract negotiations, but they lost the battle Tuesday night to the Reds.

9 Blue Jays 0 Rangers: This was a very impressive game by the Blue Jays last night. They shut out the powerful Rangers lineup in Arlington. Brian Tallet and two Blue Jays relievers combined for the two-hit shutout. Adam Lind, Marco Scutaro, and Aaron Hill all combined for two RBI's in the game. Elvis Andrus goes into the Emilio group, by committing his ninth error in 50 games. That is an error every fifth game.

Update, MLB Teams Can't Spell Their Own Names: Via RJBO, the Washington Nationals are not the only team that can't spell their own name. The Baltimore Orioles misspelled their name on Twitter. They eventually fixed it, but still. Come on guys, even dumb people can spell their own names.
