Foul Ball: Roy Halladay is a Stud!

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

6 Blue Jays 4 Angels: As much as I love Tim Lincecum, I'd rather have Roy Halladay on my pitching staff. Halladay pitched his second complete game of the season, striking out a career high 14 in the process. He also leads the majors with nine victories. Alex Rios homered in the game to provide Halladay with run support.

3 Pirates 1 Mets: I thought the Mets would travel to Pittsburgh and gain some ground in the NL East. Boy was I wrong, because the Mets have now lost two games to Pittsburgh. Pirates starter Zack Duke went seven innings giving up one run and eight hits. Jason Jaramillo hit his first career home run for Pittsburgh.

10 Nationals 6 Giants: I don't want to talk about this game. The Giants should be ashamed of themselves after their performance after this loss.

10 Marlins 3 Brewers: The swimming Mammals thrashed the Brewmasters in this game behind Cody Ross' grand slam. Also Dan Uggla hit a milestone home run by becoming the fastest 2nd baseman to hit 100 home runs. Burke Badenhop(cool last name) picked up the victory for the Mammals.

5 Red Sox 1 Tigers: Detroit phenom Rick Porcello was roughed up by the Red Sox lineup. Jason Bay homered in the game and drove in two runs in the game. Detroit didn't help themselves in this game by hitting into three double plays and committing two errors. Time to get out the Marlboro's Jim. Dice-K won his first game of the year.

5 A's 0 White Sox: Jack Cust homered and drove in two runs, while Matt Holliday drove in three runs for the A's. Bartolo Colon picked up his fifth loss of the season for the Sox. Also the White Sox hit into three double plays and Scott Podsednik was picked off at 2nd. I'm sure Mt. Ozzie is about to erupt.

Sweet and Loving Ozzie Guillen Quote: From the AP, “It’s kind of hard for me, I have to play him,” Guillen said. “It seems every time we play him he makes an error, in the meanwhile, it’s not easy, because I was in that situation when I was playing, coming in every five or six days and perform. I know it is not easy. It’s maybe my fault, I try to play him the most I can but I need better defense from him.” He was talking about Wilson Betemit's costly error in the game. I hope Ozzie isn't going soft on us.

6 Rays 2 Royals: Kansas City continues to slid down the AL Central standings. In his second game from being called up from the minors, Rays Matt Joyce hit a tiebreaking two-run double and added a two-run home run. Scary moment for the Rays happened when third baseman Evan Longoria left the game with tightness in his hamstring.

  1. I'd rather have Santana.

  2. I am still in shock that the Phillies with Antonio Bastardo on the mound beat pummeled the Padres at PETCO Park by a 1-5 score.
