Foul Ball: Dusty Baker'd

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap

9 Tigers 6 Angels: After being swept by Boston, the Tigers rallied to take two out of three from Anaheim. Clete Thomas' eighth inning grand slam broke open tied game. The Angels would score a run in the nineth inning, but Fernando Rodney held up and saved the game. Both Brandon Inge and Adam Everett had two RBI's in the game.

6 Cubs 3 Reds in 14: It took extra innings, but the Chicago Cubs were finally able to come out of Cincinnati with the win. Alfonso Soriano led off the 14th with a home run and both Reed Jonhson and Mike Fontenot both drove in runs that inning. That sly devil Dusty Baker tried pinch hitting Micah Owings, a pitcher, but it blew up in Cincinnati's faces when he struck out leaving three men on base. DUSTY BAKER'D

6 Rangers 3 Red Sox: Nelson Cruz had himself a day for the Rangers. He was a triple away from hitting the cycle. In total the Rangers pounded out 12 hits. Michael Young homered off of Dice-K in the first inning, to start the Rangers on the right course. This was the first series the Rangers have won from the Red Sox since 1997. Dice-K is (1-4) for the season.

Kevin Youkilis Quote: From the AP, “We all sit around and say we don’t know how he has a 5 ERA,” Boston’s Kevin Youkilis said. “He can dominate a game.” He was talking about Rangers pitcher Vincente Padilla.

I will tell Youk why he has a 5 ERA. Vincente Padilla is Batspit crazy. You did see his act against Mark Teixeria?

4 Blue Jays 0 Royals: Roy Halladay continued his domination by becoming the first pitcher in the majors to win 10 games. Halladay pitched a seven-hitter complete game shutout. He struck out six. Lyle Overbay and Aaron Hill both homered in the game for Toronto. Kansas City has just won once in their last six games.

8 Braves 7 Brewers: A three run eighth inning for the Braves would give them the lead and the win. Chipper Jones homered twice for the Braves and Ryan Bruan homered twice for the Brewers. Chipper had five total RBI's in the game. Mike Gonzalez picked up the save.

7 Phillies 2 Dodgers: You only need to know two things about this game. The Dodgers lost and a guy named Antonio Bastardo picked up the win. I bet there are some little Bastardo's running around somewhere.

3 Giants 2 Marlins: Tim Lincecum picked up the win and Brian Wilson picked up his 15th save of the season. Oh there was an Emilio sighting in the game!

7 Rockies 2 Cardinals: Trying to gain ground on the Brewers, the Cardinals failed by losing to the lowly Rockies. Colorado got some unexpected run support from journeyman catcher Paul Phillips. The Cardinals went a very San Francisco Giant-like with only three runs and nine hits in the past two games.

Create a Caption: That's Tito and Youkilis arguing with Tim Timmons. In case you didn't know, Timmons was involved in some controversy the day Randy Johnson won his 300th game.
