Baseball Update: Pictures speak louder than words

The Baseball Update takes a look at the happenings around the league. Instead of looking at the NL and AL East, we are going to take a look at another event. You can take a look at the standings in those divisions.

Sometimes pictures speak louder than words. They give people visuals of the actual events. Pictures speak loudly to people. And as you can tell by the picture above, people are sick of Jose Canseco.

Canseco held a press conference in Beverly Hills to tell the whole world "I told you so, once again." Only one problem. No one showed up. The only people who showed up was an reporter from the AP, camera crews, photographer, and his lawyer.

From the AP:

But on Thursday, after Major League Baseball suspended Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez (notes) for 50 games for violating its drug policies, Canseco spoke to a near-empty ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Only one reporter from The Associated Press, Canseco’s lawyer, a photographer and four camera crews attended the news conference. All but two of the 100 seats were empty.

It was probably fitting that Canseco was dressed all in black, given the news about Ramirez was the latest public relations mess for baseball officials. Canseco was visibly upset about being forced out of the game and can’t believe other players aren’t meeting a similar fate.

While Canseco has been right about everything, no one cares that he has been forced out of the game. He played for 17 season with six different teams. You became a media pariah Jose, same thing for Barry Bonds.

Teams don't want roided up jokes like Canseco around their clubhouses. Besides Jose, you had five chances. Now get in that boxing ring/Octagon and get your ass beat once again.

So yes, pictures do speak louder than words. No one cares about you being "Blackballed" from MLB, Jose. We just want more names of people who you think injected themselves with roids.
