The New York Giants has released firearms enthusiasts Plaxico Burress.
Ever since Plaxico stuffed an unlicensed gun down his waistband and shot himself at a New York nightclub, his status has been uncertain with the Giants.
"I am an optimist, and I believe most situations can be worked out," general manager Jerry Reese said in announcing the decision. "We hung in there as long as we could in hopes that there could be aresolution to this situation other than the decision we made today to release Plaxico. So who does the Giants replace him with? They will definitely have to look at the draft for a replacement.
"It wasn't to be, so now we have to move on. Like everybody else here, we want nothing but the best for Plaxico, and we are appreciative of the contributions he made to this franchise."
And where does he end up? Philadelphia? They need a receiver. What about San Francisco? They could use a deep threat. I am sure Plaxico will land on his feet somewhere in the NFL.
I would love to see him playing in Philadelphia. Just to give it to the Giants.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to see him in Philly too; he'd be great for McNabb. However, unless Jeffre Lurie, Joe Banner, Tom Heckert, and Andy Reid have a massive change of heart, they won't pursue any big name receivers that are potentially problematic like Plax is.
ReplyDeleteI think he would look good in red and gold.
