Are You Smarter Than Vince Young?

With the NFL combine starting today many NFL hopefuls will go through a series of tests. NFL scouts will see if a player can bench a certain weight, jump a certain height, or run a certain speed. One test in particular though has been brought to the attention of the nation.

The wonderlic test became famous when Texas quarterback Vince Young scored a 6 his first time. He was ridiculed so much over this poor result that he took the test again. This time he only scored a 16. He was below average. If you score in the 20 range, you are considered average.

While the wonderlic doesn't account for a players skill on the field they are important tests. At the combine NFL hopefuls will get a 50 question test and only have 12 minutes to answer the questions.

Players who had high scores
Alex Smith
Steve Young
Tony Romo
Tom Brady
Ryan Leaf

Players who had low scores
Vince Young
Dan Marino
Donovan McNabb
Jeff George
Michael Vick

You can take a sample test with 10 questions with only 2 minutes and 20 seconds here.

Good Luck

  1. Wow, that was really neat.

I completed 7 questions before I ran out of time. Fortunately for me, they were all correct so my score averages to a 35 on the Wonderlic test, which means that I am smarter than Vince Young!

Nice to see the University of Texas has a fine academic education program in place where academics are really an emphasis for student athletes...
