The Curious Case of Robert Marve

It happens every year, a kid playing football or basketball, wants out of his school. So they transfer. They are penalized by the NCAA by being forced to sit out an year. Well a transfer this year has been taken to a whole new level.

Dan Wetzel of Yahoosports.com, breaks down the case of former Miami quarterback Robert Marve.

Marve is transferring from Miami and coach Randy Shannon is hammering Marve for doing so. Marve, a Tampa native, has been blocked from attending about 27 different schools, including all of the Florida schools.

Marve has stated that he is transferring because his dad has prostate cancer and also his offensive coordinator Patrick Nix was fired by Shannon.

While Marve hasn't been the best student, he was suspended twice including Miami's bowl game, this shouldn't give Shannon or NCAA the right to block a kid from attending a school that he wants to attend.

This is just another example of big time college football and the NCAA, not caring about the players. Without the players schools, coaches, and the NCAA wouldn't be as profitable as it is today.

This in the end will hurt Miami. Marve's high school coach has stated that he will not send anymore of his players to Miami. Marve's high school is one of the best in the nation and it routinely sends kids to major college football programs.

But in the end, Marve is the one who gets hurt by this. And the NCAA doesn't have the courage to do anything about it.
