Foul Ball: Halladay Deals, Huff Drives In Runs & A Head Scratcher in Tampa

Milwaukee 1 San Francisco 6: The Giants finally scored more than three runs in the game. Aubrey Huff was the big contributor going 3-for-4 with the tie-breaking RBI in the seventh inning. Despite struggling most of the game, Jonathon Sanchez picked up the victory for the Giants. A big reason Sanchez picked up the victory was because the Brewers left 12 men on base.

Philadelphia 3 Atlanta 1: Roy Halladay pitched his seventh complete game of the year. Damn. Halladay gave up five hits, one run, one home run, while striking out seven. Greg Dobbs went 2-for-3 in the game with a home run and two RBIs.

Detroit 12 Baltimore 9: In a barn-burner of a game, Detroit scored 12 runs without hitting a home run. Brandon Inge went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Carlos Guillen drove in three runs. The Tigers starting pitcher Andy Oliver actually gave up six runs in an inning and a half of action, but the Tigers scored eight runs in the first two innings so Oliver picked up the no-decision.

NY Mets 6 Cincinnati 8: A lot was made of Joey Votto's snub from the All-Star team. So how did Votto respond? By hitting two home runs against the Mets and driving in two runs. I would tell Votto this, Charlie Manuel is a dumb SOB. Manuel picked Omar Infante for Christ sake, he isn't smart. There's a reason why Giants fans refer to Chuck as "Foghorn Leghorn."

Tampa Bay 6 Boston 5: Tony Francona might not ever hear the end of it after this game. Francona left Dice-K in the game a little too long and the Red Sox blew a four-run lead against the Rays. Jason Bartlett gave the Rays the lead with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning and the Rays never looked back. After struggling last week, the Rays have won three straight and are only a game and a half behind the Yankees for first place.

Los Angeles 5 Florida 6: The Marlins scored six runs in the first three innings off of a bases loaded single, sacrifice fly, ground-out, and a throwing error. Wes Helms drove in two-runs off of a bases loaded single. The Marlins won the game despite committing two errors and leaving six men on base.

Video of the Day: This has nothing to do with baseball, but nonetheless it's awesome.

  1. Greg Dobbs went 2-for-3 in the game with a home run and two RBIs.

That was not Greg Dobbs playing last night game. It was a real baseball player wearing a Greg Dobbs jersey.
