Tampa Bay 5 Detroit 0: I would say that I'm happy for Matt Garza for throwing a No-Hitter, but I'm not. I've seen too many no-hitters/Perfect Games this year. Five in all. Garza did have company in the no-hitter department as Detroit pitcher Max Scherzer took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning until Matt Joyce hit a grand slam off of him. Getting back to Garza, he threw the first no-hitter in Rays history. Only the Mets and Padres haven't thrown a no-hitter yet. The Tigers and Rays combined for three hits in the game, the fewest hits between two teams in a game since 1997.
Philadelphia 5 Colorado 4: Somehow Brad Lidge escaped a bases-loaded situation, but he did. Lidge escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning to help the Phillies sweep the Rockies. Backup Phillies catcher Brian Schneider drove in two runs to go along with RBIs from Raul Ibanez, Jimmy Rollins, and Placido Polanco. Despite their deficiencies, the Phillies are only 4 1/3 games behind the Braves in the NL East.
Cleveland 2 New York 3: Unfortunately for ESPN, A-Roid didn't hit his 600th career home run in this game. F-ing ESPN keep cutting away from a double no-hitter for they could show A-Roid go 0-for-4 in the game. Once again thanks ESPN. By the way, Curtis Granderson brought victory to the Yankees with a two-run home run in the eighth inning.
Kansas City 1 Minnesota 19: How this for a boxscore? The Twins scored 19 runs off of 20 hits. Joe Mauer had five of those hits and seven of the RBIs. The Twins scored six runs in two different innings, two runs in another two innings, and three runs in another inning. The Royals saved face by scoring one run in the ninth inning, but that wasn't enough to overcome the worst loss in franchise history.

At least the Tigers didn't wait until September this year to start flatlining. Hopefully, unlike in 2008's 2nd half free fall, they can stay out of the AL Central cellar.
