Foul Ball: All-Star Break

Washington 2 San Francisco 6: After starting the 11 game road trip 1-4, the Giants finished their longest road trip of the season by going 6-1 to finish at the all-star break 4 games behind the first place Padres. Travis Ishikawa drove in three runs for the Giants to finish the road trip 10 RBIs. Madison Bumgarner picked up his second victory of the year and Brian Wilson picked up his 23rd save of the season before heading off to Anaheim for the All-Star Game.

Minnesota 6 Detroit 3: The Twins were struggling badly before Sunday. The Twins had lost four straight games, including two to division rival Detroit, while also playing without both Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer. Carl Pavano provided the Twins with a much needed victory by pitching 7 2/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs. The Twins go into the break 3.5 games behind Chicago for first place in an suddenly interesting AL Central.

Philadelphia 1 Cincinnati 0: For the second straight day, the Phillies beat the Reds 1-0 to complete a four-game sweep. The Phillies defeated the Reds in the first three games by an extra innings walkoff. Pert Plus pitched 7 2/3 innings giving up no runs, six hits, and striking out three to pick up the victory.

Chi White Sox 15 Kansas City 5: On June 8th the White Sox were 9 1/2 games behind first place and imploding. On July 11, the White Sox are the AL Central division leaders and surging. The White Sox exploded for a seven-run, four homer third inning. Carlos Quentin hit a grand slam and a solo home run to go along with Andruw Jones' 400th career home run.

Ozzie Guillen Quote: Ozzie is actually happy. From the AP: “A shock. To be honest with you, I think it is a shock just because the way the team was playing, all the negative stuff outside the clubhouse How many games we got to put up to be over .500. How many games we were out of first place. It’s a shock how quick we did it,” Guillen said. “I know we are going to compete this year and hopefully we stay the same way we are right now. We put ourselves in a pretty nice spot and see what happens the rest of the summer.”

Texas 1 Baltimore 4: The Rangers traded for Cliff Lee on Friday and were promptly swept by the Orioles? For the first time since 1995, the Orioles swept a team in a four-game series. Orioles rookie pitcher Jake Arrieta pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six hits, 1 run, while striking out three. Miguel Tejada homered and Corey Patterson drove in two runs.

Houston 2 St. Louis 4: The Cardinals were trailing 2-0 in the fourth inning, when Matt Holliday hit a three-run home run. At least he isn't taking a fly ball off his crotch. The Cardinals head into the break one game behind the Reds in the NL Central in a two-horse race. The poor Astros can't buy a hit even with this guy as the batting coach.

Create A Caption: At McCovey Chronicles, we always make fun of Bumgarner for his facial expressions. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Video of the Day: See! Players complained about umpiring since the 1980's!

It's hard enough dealing with Hawk Harrelson. Now add Hawk Harrelson Jr. on MLB Network and the White Sox's numerous cockblocking attempts in the last calendar year (The Tigers are interested in Alex Rios, Juan Pierre, JJ Putz & Johnny Damon? Sign them first!) plus their many reclamation projects and it all makes me wanna fucking vomit.
