Foul Ball: Great Interleague Rivalries

NY Yankees 8 Philadelphia 3: So much for that great pitchers duel. Roy Halladay was pounded in six innings of work giving up eight hits, six runs, and three home runs. Sabathia in the meanwhile pitched seven innings giving up five hits, three runs, three walks, while striking out seven.

C.C. Sabathia Quote: C.C. didn't mind taking a run at the Baltimore Orioles after the game, from Britt's Bird Watch: "I've beat them four times this year. It feels good to get a win against a good team." C.C. is just taking a dump on the Orioles grave now.

Kansas City 15 Houston 7: The Royals scored the most runs in a game, since 2007. Seven of those wins came in fifth-inning with two-outs. Only the Astros could give up seven runs to the Royals with two outs. Yuniesky Betancourt bases loaded double started the fifth inning rally. Mike Aviles drove in four runs for the Royals in the game. Too bad they can't get Greinke that type of run support.

Boston 6 Arizona 3: Nothing says rivalry like Red Sox versus the Diamondbacks. Buchholz (9-4) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out eight in 5 2-3 innings for his sixth win in seven starts. David Ortiz hit his 13th homer of the season to give Arizona their 11th straight road loss.

Detroit 7 Washington 4: Without Strasburg pitching, Washington is still the same old Natinals we all love. Before the game, Tigers 2nd baseman Ryan Raburn was hitting .165. During the game, Raburn had two hits, four RBIs, and a home run. Raburn hit a tie-breaking three-run home run in the fifth inning.

San Francisco 1 Baltimore 4: Duane Kuiper said it best last night, "The Giants caught all the breaks on Monday and the Orioles caught the breaks on Tuesday." Giants pitcher Joe Martinez made his debut last night and gave up up all four runs to the Orioles. Besides a home run to a lowball hitter in Adam Jones, Martinez pitched well but his defense backing him failed. Too many hits went off the tip of gloves and bounced into the outfield. That's Joe Martinez's life though, he's just that unlucky.

San Diego 8 Toronto 2: The Earth didn't shake in the game.

Los Angeles Angels 1 Milwaukee 7: If the Brewers played every game on the road, they would be in playoff contention. The Brewers are 11-19 at home and 17-18 on the road. So far in Anaheim the Brewers have scored 19 runs in two games. Prince Fielder homered and drove in two runs while Corey Hart also drove in two runs. As a fan of the Giants, it's too bad the Brewers don't have a pitching staff because they are wasting a lot of talent in the lineup.
