Wrestlemania XXVI Open Thread

It's here! It's Wrestling's biggest night of the year. Wrestlemania! I might not be as big as wrestling fan as I was 10 years ago, but I still look forward to this event every year. You are free to discuss the matches and all the craziness that goes along with Wrestlemania right here. Just don't be a troll.

Here's the Lineup:

Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Christian vs Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Jack Swagger vs. Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Matt Hardy vs. Evan Bourne vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston
Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk (If Mysterio loses, he must join the Straight Edge Society)
Triple Threat Match: Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs Ted DiBiase
WWE Unified Tag Team Championship: ShoMiz (The Big Show and The Miz) (c) vs John Morrison and R-Truth
Triple H vs Sheamus
No Holds Barred: Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon
World Heavyweight Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs Edge
WWE Championship: Batista (c) vs John Cena
Streak vs Career, No Disqualification or Count Out: The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels

I'll have a full recap of the nights events tomorrow morning along with Jim Ross' best quotes.

  1. Boring match. I'm glad it didn't last long.

  2. Alright! My favorite match of Wrestlemania, Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

  3. That was hilarious. Swagger couldn't undo the latch connected to the briefcase.

  4. I'm glad the WWE is getting the matches no one wants to watch out of the way early.

  5. Very lame match between Triple H and Sheamus.

  6. Flyers are winning 3-0! Pinch me I must be dreaming!

  7. They better hurry up and finish that game. Their goaltender can't break curfew.

  8. @ 49er16: That's just our back up. Boosh is starting today. ;-)

  9. Great finish to the Punk-Mysterio match.

  10. This Hart-McMahon match is terrible and awkward. I feel bad for everyone involved in it.

  11. I'm just going to pretend that match never happened.

    ReplyDelete
  12. What happened with Hart-McMahon? Everyone is saying it stunk but no one is saying what happened.

  13. @JFein: It was just brutal to watch. Both guys can barely move and it was a complete squash match favoring Bret.

    ReplyDelete
  14. @JFein: It was one of the most poorly executed matches that I've ever watched.

  15. Interesting, I thought Edge would have won that match.

  16. Michael Cole won me over with that Hog Splash comment on Vickie Guerrero.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Good grief, Michael Cole just can't stop screaming in this match.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Solid Match. Very impressive by both guys.

  19. It's been awhile for me, but why did WWE rename the "F.U." and take the U off "STFU"?

And who is the guy with Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler?

    ReplyDelete
  20. @JFein: The WWE is trying to be more kid friendly so they stopped calling Cena's finisher the "F.U." and took the U off of the "STFU".

And the guy with Cole and Lawler is Matt Striker. He's replaced Jim Ross while he deals with Bells Palsy.

  21. Taker HBK main eventing.

    Whoa, that's different!

    ReplyDelete
  22. This should be a great Main Event. Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow Matt Striker. Just wow. WWE is that desperate.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I now hope my stream does not fail on me through this main event.

    ReplyDelete
  25. And naturally, stream goes bye bye at the worst time.

  26. @JC: I actually thought that a very solid match. Cena did one hell of a job.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think the Undertaker just fucked up that spot.

    ReplyDelete
  28. That last ride looked like some sort of botch.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Is there a hold that Matt Striker has not been in?

  30. McMahon generally likes to end on a high note. Regardless of who wins this match, it really does not end on a high note. Either Taker's streak is over or Michaels' career is over and WM just normally does not end with something like that. And they also don't like quirky endings for WM either. This one has me stumped right now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh! Did Undertaker just roll on Michaels' head there?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Okay I'm stumped. Michaels has to win this match, right?

    ReplyDelete
  33. "You can feel the emotion of 72,000 fans in Phoenix." - Michael Cole

You are in Glendale, Michael. You are in Glendale.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @ Keith: I think it's the other way around, Taker has to win. But how do you end WM by ending Michaels' career?

That has me stumped right now.

    ReplyDelete
  35. @JFein: Glendale and Scottsdale are basically Phoenix.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Okay, so when does Shawn Michaels return to the ring?

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ 49er16: I read they might give him a few months off.

    ReplyDelete
  38. And now the corny tear-jerking "goodbye Shawn Michaels" moment.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Shut up Justin. I'm crying right now. I'm glad my girlfriend isn't here.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Both of them according to sources on the interwebs are going to take a break of a few months.

    ReplyDelete
  41. My instant reaction for WM 26? I can't give it anything higher than a C. Some of the matches were brutal, but Cena-Batista and Michaels-Taker saved it at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just because all signs point to his eventual return, I can't get too emotional over it.
