Inside the Paint: Utah Finally Wins in San Antonio

Utah 90 San Antonio 83: It's been a decade since Utah won in San Antonio. In 1999, John Stockton and Karl Malone were still running a thousand pick-and-rolls and Jerry Sloan was the coach. So Jerry Sloan is still the coach, but it's been over five years since Stockton and Malone. San Antonio in the meanwhile, is hampered by injuries. Manu is out and so is Tony Parker. The Spurs will still make the playoffs this year, because they are always in the playoffs.

Phoenix 103 New Orleans 110: Look out! The Hornets have won two straight games! Even more impressive is that they've done it without Chris Paul. Darren Collison did a great job last night replacing Paul and staying up with Steve Nash. Collison dished out five assists and scored 15 points. Of course when Peja Stojakovic hits seven 3-pointers, your going to have a good chance at winning. Just ask the old school Sacramento Kings. In other news, the Hornets will wear Mardi Gras uniforms this season.

Chicago 93 Los Angeles Lakers 108: Pau Gasol made his return from injury and immediately scored 24 points. Gasol turns the Lakers from a great team, into a championship team that is unstoppable. And last night the Lakers were unstoppable. The Lakers grabbed 50 rebounds in the game and 21 of those were offensive. For how good teams like Phoenix, Atlanta, Boston, and Orlando have looked, Los Angeles has that look of a team that will not be stopped.
