Foul Ball: Yankees and Red Sox must be Playing with an Alumminum Bat

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap.

16 Red Sox 11 Yankees: This game needed 4 hours to complete. But it wasn't enough for Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett who allowed eight runs. Not to be out done, Red Sox ace Josh Beckett gave up eight runs. Mike Lowell's grand slam would drive in the winning runs. In total there was 27 runs, 28 hits, and 6 home runs hit in this game. I guess the Red Sox must play in a bandbox as well.

5 Giants 3 Diamondbacks: The Big Unit didn't exactly have the greatest return to Arizona. He was knocked out of the game in 3 1/3 innings. But Edgar Renteria and Randy Winn both had tow RBI's which would be enough to beat the struggling Diamondbacks. The Giants have won five straight ans six of their last seven. And YES I had to add that in.

6 Phillies 4 Florida: Every Philadelphia victory has been a come-from-behind victory. And Saturday night was no different. Trailing 4-3 in the nineth pinch-hitter Eric Bruntlett hit an RBI grounder to tie the game. The Phillies would break the tie in the tenth and Brad Lidge would pick up the save. Both Ryan Howard and Chan Ho Park homered in the game. Remember this moment from Chan Ho Park?

  1. Chan Ho Park going Karate Kid on Tim Belcher is still a classic.
