Foul Ball: Here Comes the Pirates!

Foul Ball is your daily baseball recap.

Sorry for not posting this feature since last Thursday, but the past days have been quite busy for me. Anyways, let's highlight the best games and the worst performances.

Weather postponed both the A's-Yankees game and the Phillies-Padres game.

12 Boston 1 Baltimore: The Orioles probably couldn't be happier to leave Boston. The O's were swept by the Red Sox, including losing this disaster of a game. Eight Red Sox hitters had RBI's in the game. For whatever reason though the Red Sox used 5 pitchers in this blowout. I guess Terry Fancona is going for the Dusty Baker Award this season.

8 Pirates 0 Marlins: The Pirates have three shutouts in four games, and today they blanked the red hot Marlins. Ross Oldendorf, not related to Eric Devendorf, allowed two hits in seven innings for the Pirates. Nate McLouth drove in four runs for the Pirates. They keep this up and they will be given the Dave Parker helmet with the face mask.

3 Nationals 2 Braves: Despite cold, rain, and lack of fans, the Nationals were still able to pull out with the win. Jordan Zimmerman won his MLB debut by allowing six hits and two runs in six innings. Oh yeah, the little leaguers that made Elijah Dukes late, paid his fine.

Worst of the Night:
- Baltimore pitcher Radhames Liz gave up 3 runs, and 6 runs in 0.1 innings pitched against the Red Sox.

- Marlins hitters combined for two hits and six strikeouts.

- Colorado Rockies committed two errors during their loss to Arizona.

- The Houston Astros left six men on base in their one-run loss to Cincinnati.

Video of the Day: How about an Harry Kalas tribute tattoo?
