Posted by JFein at the request of 49er16 because his computer is being atteneded to by the Geek Squad

Will Boise make magic happen once again in Glendale?

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Boise State vs. TCU 8:00 (Fox - Sam Rosen and Tim Ryan, SR: Chris Myers)

JFein's pick: TCU in a blowout.

49er16's Pick: Boise State by a thin margin.

Oh Fox

  1. Bad news gents. My computer is out of service for a couple of weeks. JFein will continue to post open threads until I can borrow my parents laptop.

I still be around for the games but very limited. Enjoy the thread and I'll be around monitoring the comments.

  2. Ouch. And I thought that my occasional little computer problems were bad......

I'll be around to post a live blog of the national championship game on Thursday if you can't be around to get something up.

  3. I'm trying to work on something to have a functional computer by then.

  4. my prediction: Tim Ryan makes it painfully obvious he had never seen TCU or Boise play before starting his prep work 10 days ago.

    TCU wins by 3

  5. TCU by 14.

    Fire Mora.

    Fire Mora.

Why did we give our punter a 6 year deal?

    Fire management.

  6. @Mookie

are you sure the Seahawks didn't hire Vinny Cerrato?

  7. WOW! I had no idea TCU coach Garry Patterson coached at UC Davis when BSU coach Chris Peterson played there.

  8. Is it possible that Chris Myers can go a game without a bad joke? Even if he is just sideline reporting?

  9. Chris Myers needs to be abducted by Somalia pirates and never rescued.

  10. "It's WWE superstar John Cena." - Sam Rosen

I will take Rosen saying WWE instead of WWF as a small victory of broadcasting on a night where we will probably get hardly any more.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm guessing Cena won't be on RAW tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I know John Cena is Superman and what not, but does he have the ability to teleport to Dayton, Ohio in the next 35 minutes?

  13. Was that McNabb throwing to DeSean Jackson in Dallas or Kellen Moore throwing to Titus Young in the Fiesta Bowl?

The answer is the latter but it certainly looked like the former...

  14. I thought RAW might be in Arizona tonight.

  15. "He absolutely ear-holed a Boise State player." - Tim Ryan

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate it when an announcer uses that term? Ray Bentley is the worst at it...

  16. What's the Poinseeyetta Bowl, Tim Ryan?

  17. I can't resist. I'm watching WWE Raw now. Don't worry, I won't spoil it. ;-)

  18. As soon as it's 9:00 here I'll be watching RAW.

  19. Seeing Bret Hart on Raw makes me feel like a kid again.

  20. And here ya go, Keith. There is a rumor that the NFL London game next season is Eagles-Niners.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It would be a Niners home game which I don't like.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @JFein: How do they determine who gets the London game each year?

    ReplyDelete
  23. And there it is. The Tar Heels LOSE to the College of Charleston.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Coll of Charleston beat UNC in OT.

  25. @49er16 6:20 p.m.: I had NO idea.

    //6:19 post'd

  26. The NFL chooses somehow, I don't know the exact science behind it, but I just read that rumor on Twitter. Make of it what you will.

  27. I see Dick Stockton is showing off his 12 days of college football research....

  29. OOPS, I forgot it's tape delayed (at least Raw is) on the West Coast.

I'm not used to chatting to West Coast people who watch it on tape.

    Previous post deleted.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @49er16 Is TNA Impact on tape tonight out there?

There's a whole lot of "other" stuff that's happened on both shows.

    Very sorry, Keith.

    /East Coast bias'd

  31. I blame the bad Winter Classic ratings for watching wrestling, the Cap One and Gator Bowls outdid the Flyers/Bruins game (How?).

I won't watch that abortion of a Fiesta Bowl, Boise St. and TCU prove nothing to the big 6 conferences by beating each other.

  32. College Hoops- 9th ranked North Carolina lost at College of Charleston 82-79 in OT tonight.

TCU recovers a Boise St. fumble, Frogs ball.

    ReplyDelete
  33. TCU has tied the abortion of a Fiesta Bowl at 10 late in the 3rd quarter. /Not a bowl fan

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thank you, Fox. I don't feel like the only idiot tonight. Spellcheck "CUMMUNICATION" on Jeron Johnson's major.

Brandon Thompson has 2 INTs for Boise, these offenses are not good. It can't be great defense, this isn't the SEC.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Boise is one first down away from another Fiesta Bowl victory.

    ReplyDelete
  36. TCU gets 1 last chance

and they'll have to go 99 and 3/4 yards to do it

    ReplyDelete
  37. This could be the most cliche thing I've ever said here but TCU is going to have to pull a Boise State to tie this one up...

    ReplyDelete
  38. INTERCEPTED!!!!! BOISE STATE HAS WON THE TOSTITOS FIESTA BOWL!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. So here's the question, with Cincinnati out of the picture, does Boise State deserve consideration for a share of the national championship? Better yet, will they get it?

    ReplyDelete
  40. only if Texas wins a 10-9 game with 10 turnovers between the 2 teams will the Broncos have a chance...even then, i don't think Boise jumps Florida....

    ReplyDelete
  41. Can Chris Myers get off my screen?

    ReplyDelete
  42. nice of the Fiesta Bowl to get a knock off of the Crystal Football BCS trophy

    ReplyDelete
  43. @ 49er16: I have not seen his post, but if I can assure you that if Al spoiled anything, he only spoiled part of what happened.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @JFein I posted one match result (I'll wait until the west coast reair ends to reveal it) from RAW accidentally not knowing it was only live in the east.

It was a semi-important storyline in the show but not the most important, i.e. no Bret Hart spoilers.

With TNA, Hogan appearing at some point was a given because they hyped it last week. No spoiler there.
